On June 29, 2017, the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic (Parliament) passed amendments to the Law “On Pledge” and the Civil Code in the 3rd reading by unanimous voting of members. The Anti-Corruption Business Council of the Kyrgyz Republic, with the support of the USAID Collaborative Governance Program, facilitated the development of these amendments aimed to protect property rights of citizens and businesses. The draft Law “On Pledge” and the Civil Code will be submitted for the President’s approval within 10 days. According to Parliament regulations, the President will consider the approval of the amendments within 30 days following submission.
