On September 23, 2014 ICNL, as part of the Collaborative Governance Program implemented by East-West Management Institute, conducted training on Trends of Development of CSO Legislation in the Kyrgyz Republic in Osh.

Nineteen representatives of various CSOs of Osh oblast were provided with the most up-to-date information regarding legal regulation of CSOs in KR and the latest trends, including:

  • Trends of latest development of legislation on CSOs in the Kyrgyz Republic: the most significant positive and negative changes, initiatives and trends within previous year;
  • Key provisions of the draft Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on State Social Procurement;
  • Key provisions of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on Public Councils of the State Bodies;
  • The procedure for inspection of CSOs by state regulatory bodies;
  • Legal aspects of social entrepreneurship in the Kyrgyz Republic;
  • Mechanisms of interaction between CSOs and state bodies to promote civic initiatives.

As a result, CSOs of Osh better know their legal rights and obligations, they will be compliant with laws and will be able to assert their rights; moreover, they got acquainted with the best democratic principles of regulating CSOs, and will use this knowledge while advocating against restrictive laws, as well as lobbying initiatives enabling CSO legal environment.
