Bishkek – The Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic will hold a press conference on the results of the Annual Decade of Legal Assistance, which has been held from December 3 - 10, 2018.
 
The press conference will be held on December 11, 2018 in the Press Center «Kabar» at 10 a.m. at 175 Abddrakhmanova Str. 
 
Speakers at the press conference will include: 
the Director of the Center for Coordination of State-Guaranteed Legal Aid, Akzhol Kalbekov; 
the Chairman of the Council of Defense Attorneys of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bilim Raiymkulov; 
the Expert on Constitutional Law and State-Guaranteed Legal Aid of the “Rule of Law Program in the Kyrgyz Republic - (Phase 2)”, Laila Urzena; 
the Chief of Party of the USAID Collaborative Governance Program, Ruslan Moldokasymov;
the Coordinator of the UNDP and MFA Finland project “Towards a sustainable access to justice for legal empowerment in the Kyrgyz Republic”, Ainura Alymbekova; and 
the Director of the Soros Foundation – Kyrgyzstan’s “Rule of Law Program”, Nuriana Kartanbaeva.
At the press conference, participants can learn about the results of the decade. In particular, about how many people and on what issues received legal assistance, what activities were carried out and what results were obtained, etc. 
 
The Decade is held to improve access to justice, ensure the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens through the effective implementation of the Law on State Guaranteed Legal Aid, and raise public awareness aimed to empower citizens to assert their rights.
 
The decade is organized by the Ministry of Justice’s Center for Coordination of State-Guaranteed Legal Aid in partnership with the UNDP and MFA of Finland project “Towards a sustainable access to justice for legal empowerment in the Kyrgyz Republic”, USAID Collaborative Governance Program, European Union and GIZ “Rule of Law Program in the Kyrgyz Republic - the 2nd phase”, and Soros Foundation – Kyrgyzstan’s “Rule of Law Program”.
