“The USAID Collaborative Governance Program (CGP) cooperates with the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic and its Center for Coordination of State-Guaranteed Legal Aid (CC SGLA) to support the implementation of the Law on State-Guaranteed Free Legal Aid. As part of the cooperation, 10 Free Legal Aid Centers (FLACs) were opened in Batken, Naryn, Jalal-Abad and Issyk-Kul Oblasts. CGP also conducted a media campaign to raise public awareness of opened FLACs as a survey of 2016 showed that the majority of the surveyed citizens in case of legal issues turn to neighbors, acquaintances or relatives. The CGP continues to cooperate with the Ministry of Justice and its CC SGLA by supporting their efforts to raise public awareness of legal aid available in the country as well as focusing on improving the quality of legal consultations provided by lawyers, attorneys and notaries in 24 FLACs established throughout the country", - said Ruslan Moldokasymov, Director of the USAID Collaborative Governance Program implemented by the East-West Management Institute, at the press conference in the Information Agency "Kabar".
