The Public Association “Women Support Center”, with participation of the Committees on Prevention of Domestic Violence (CPDC), conducted a series of trainings for women in the Ak-Bosogo, Kalys Ordo and Kolmo settlements near Bishkek. Overall, 54 participants received knowledge on using a GALS method (GALS - Gender Actions Learning System is used as a gender-sensitive approach for improving living conditions with participation of both men and women) and learned about the Law on Safeguarding and Protection against Domestic Violence. The participants also discussed issues of relationships between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law in families and ways to achieve a harmony in the family.
The trainings were held with the support of the USAID Collaborative Governance Program for prevention of domestic violence and raising public awareness on issues related to domestic violence.
