Overview and background

East West Management Institute is currently implementing the USAID Collaborative Governance Program (CGP).  The CGP is a five-year program (March 2013-February 2018) that works to foster effective collaboration between civil society, the private sector, and the Government of Kyrgyzstan to deliver social services to its citizens, resulting in a more responsive and accountable government, and a more credible and sustainable civil society. The CGP will support the Government of Kyrgyzstan’s efforts to increase civil society participation in service delivery through social procurement contracting mechanisms and will support Kyrgyzstani civil society to be better able to shape public policy, monitor the government on behalf of citizens, and expand engagement and advocacy efforts.

CGP seeks a qualified professional to fill an immediate requirement for a Civic Society Capacity Manager.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in such fields as International Studies, Political Science, Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Economics, Statistics, Law, Project Management, Public Administration, or other related fields.
  • At least 4 years program/project management experience within donor-funded activities
  • Experience of working with or for Civic Society Organizations.
  • Experience in organizational and human capacity development
  • Experience working with grants and subcontracts
  • Strong team-building approach to management;
  • Ability to be effective in meetings with senior members of the Kyrgyzstani public, private, and civil society sectors as well as members of the donor community.

Demonstrated proficiency required in such areas as    

  • Critical-thinking 
  • Knowledge of USAID reporting requirements
  • Program/Project budgeting and financial management
  • Data analysis and report writing
  • Project/program planning
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Strong oral and written English and Russian language skills required;
  • Oral and written Kyrgyz language skills desired.
  • MS Office experienced user
