On March 14, 2016 KNU NPM Resource Center at Kyrgyz National University hosted a guest lecture of Jacob Dwyer, Peace Corps Volunteer on the theme «Creation of Civil Society in a Comparative Political Perspective, Comparing and Contrasting its Creation across Different Countries». Over 30 students of Kyrgyz National and Kyrgyz – Russian Slavic Universities, 2 representatives of CSOs and 3 professors participated in this event. Jacob Dwyer talked about the most significant milestones in civil society historical development from Ancient Greece to our days. In their turn, participants shared their ideas on what it means to be a member of civil society, an input every person brings to the enhancement of the state and national development. Overall, the lecture was held in an engaging manner and Jacob received the most enthusiastic appreciation from participants for helping them gain the deeper understanding of civil society and its perspectives.
