Over 70 participants including madrasah students, secondary school students and local activists participated in the guest lecture of Salbar Polotova on the theme “Importance of Secular Education under the Present Conditions of the Country”, which was organized in the madrasah “Muaz ibn Jabal” in Batken. Salbar Polotova is a prominent leader in the pursuit of the rights of women from the Public Association of Women “Mutakaalim”. During the guest lecture, the participants discussed problems that madrasah graduates face in finding employment, due to lack of secular subjects, and learned about the opportunities for receiving parallel education at higher education institutions in the country. The state does not recognize diplomas issued by Islamic institutes and madrasahs and as a result, the future employment opportunities of students from these institutions as well as well as their ability to adapt in certain social environments are impeded.

The event was conducted by the Public Foundation “Information, Consulting and Demonstration Center “Stimul” in cooperation with Kaziyat of Batken Oblast as part of a project titled “Madrasah- Attending Young Girls as Initiators of Positive Social Changes”supported by the Collaborative Governance Program (CGP) that promotes effective collaboration among civil society, the private sector, and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
