On June 22, 2017, the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic (Parliament) passed amendments to the Law “On Pledge” and the Civil Code in the 2nd reading by unanimous voting of 103 members of the Parliament. The Anti-Corruption Business Council of the Kyrgyz Republic facilitated the development of these amendments as part of the project “Advocating for adoption by Parliament and then signing by the President - amendments to the Kyrgyz Republic Civil Code, Law “On Pledge”, and Law “On Bank Secrecy”. The project is implemented with the support of the USAID Collaborative Governance Program.  The adopted amendments will protect property rights of citizens and businesses. The Anti-Corruption Business Council expects amendments to the Law “On Pledge” and the Civil Code to pass through the third reading in the Parliament on June 29, 2017.
